SuperVee 27 RTR (AQUB17**) Tech Notes
Arming the ESC
Posted October 5, 2006
To arm the AquaCraft SuperVee 27 Brushless power system, follow the steps below:
- Install fresh "AA" batteries in your AquaCraft transmitter.
- Turn the throttle trim knob - located on the far right top of the transmitter - fully counter-clockwise (see illustration).
- Make sure that the throttle servo reversing switch is in the down position (see illustration).
- Turn the transmitter "ON".
- Install two charged, 6-cell battery packs in your SV27 Brushless boat. Then, plug them into the ESC (electronic speed control) inside the boat.
- Listen for a single beep.
- Pull the throttle trigger all the way back (as if to apply full power). Listen for a single beep.
- Release the throttle trigger to neutral and listen for the five remaining beeps. Your boat is now ready to operate.
If your boat does not beep in the order listed above, re-check the settings on the hand-held transmitter and repeat the steps above.

Centering Rudder Trim
Posted September 15, 2006
Perfectly centered trims are always essential for any model. This is beneficial if the trim knob or lever ever gets inadvertently moved on your transmitter.
If you find after trimming your SuperVee 27 that it will not go perfectly straight without corrections from the steering wheel, follow these steps to center your transmitter's steering trim knob.
| | 1. | Install a charged set of batteries in your boat and power it up like you are going to take it for a run. |
| | 2. | Center the ST.TRIM knob on the top of your transmitter. (see Figure 1 below)

Figure 1
|
| | 3. | Remove the radio box cover from inside the boat. |
| | 4. | Look down at the top of the steering servo and note the position of the servo arm. When the ST.TRIM knob on top of your transmitter is centered, the servo arm should be perpendicular (90deg angle) to the steering rod. The rudder blade on the back of the boat should also be perpendicular to the steering rod. (see Figures 2 and 3 below)

|
| | 5. | If you cannot straighten the rudder using the trim knob on the top of your transmitter, remove the servo arm screw from the top of the servo using a small Phillips screwdriver. |
| | 6. | Pull the servo arm off and adjust it to center the position of the rudder blade. Slide it back down onto the servo output shaft and re-install the screw, being careful to not over tighten. |
| | 7. | Fully turn the ST.TRIM knob on the top of the transmitter both left and right. Check to see if you can get the rudder to trim a small amount in either direction. |
| | 8. | Re-install the radio box lid and you're ready to go. |
NOTE: If you find that moving the servo arm one spine in either direction is either too much or not enough to center the rudder blade, you can also make fine adjustments by popping off the ball link that attaches to the rudder's tiller arm. By turning the ball link in or out, you can fine-tune your rudder blade. (See figure 4 below)

Figure 4
Driving tip: The SuperVee 27 only needs around 15deg of rudder throw in both directions. Use the D/R knob on the top of your transmitter to fine-tune the amount of steering your boat needs. Hint: Less is better in this case. You will scrub off less speed if you adjust your D/R knob to make a nice, smooth corner.
